Artist Statement
I see a mandalorian helmet that has been carved into a piece of wood. It has been painted and sanded down to make it smooth. It appears to have been carved by a simple pocket knife using the scoring method. The elements of design that were used in this piece were line, color, and shape. The colors that were used in the making of this piece were dark blue and a pitch black. The purpose of this piece is to be used as a coster. It could also be hung on the wass and maybe be used as a sign. I do really like this piece. I honestly did not expect it to turn out this good based on how my last carving project went this is incredible. The colors were perfect and the sanding process went really well. There were a few things that I wish I could do better. I wish I could have taken more time on the upper left portion of this wood and I wish I had more time so I could apply another coat of paint.
