Artist Statement
The piece I made is made out of cardboard, hot glue, root beer cans, a type of paper, and staples. It has been painted black and blue. The elements of design that I used were color and line. The line was probably the hardest part because I was trying to make it perfectly symmetrical. I had been studying how mando helmets looked. I actually baised the helmet design after a deathwatch grunt. Its purpose is to show how far behind we are from a technology standpoint. In star wars these helmets are almost indestructible however if we were to make our helmets like this there would be no way for us to even come close to the structural integrity. I personally really like how this piece turned out. The color was almost perfect and the hot glue and staples managed to hold the piece together very well.
